Why Judy Why at SleuthSayers

At SleuthSayers I explain how I became a fan of Billy Joel's obscure first album, which led to me writing "Why Judy Why" for Only the Good Die Young.

Why Judy Why

I am delighted to have a story in Only the Good Die Young, Josh Pachter's new anthology of crime stories inspired by the songs of Billy Joel. "Why Judy Why" appeared on the obscure first album, Cold Spring Harbor.

The Fourth Circle at SleuthSayers

Yesterday at SleuthSayers I wrote about how I dreamed up my latest Hitchcock story, "The Fourth Circle."

The Fourth Circle

My first appearance in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine was in June 1981.  The new May/June 2021 issue, exactly 40 years later, features my 34th story, "The Fourth Circle." Happy anniversary!

I have been invited to speak about my nonfiction book via zoom at Western Illinois University as part of their Women's History Month celebration.  Here is a cool little video one of their communications students created about it.

Steve Lewis reviewed my Marty Crow story "The Charity Case" at Mystery*File today. He understands my muddled P.I.  Nice comments from the commenters too.
