Back in Japan
Tokyo Sogen was so pleased with the response to their edition of SHANKS ON CRIME that they bought the rights to put out another collection of my stories. THE RED ENVELOPE AND OTHER STORIES was released last week. As best I can make out the Japanese title reads: SOLVE MYSTERIES AT THE COFFEE SHOP ON HOLIDAYS. Why not?
Besides the title story, the book contains: The Accessory, Brutal, The Center of the Universe, Crow's Lesson, The Roseville Way, Shooting at Firemen, Train Tracks, and Two Men One Gun,

More Misadventures!
Today was the cover reveal for THE MISADVENTURES OF NERO WOLFE, a book of parodies and pastiches about Rex Stout's great character, edited by Josh Pachter. Actually publication date won't be until April. I understand that my story, "The Damned Doorbell Rang," will be the closer.
I have been a fan of Stout since fifth grade so it is an honor to be in this book.

Mystery Scene on A Bad Day
Ben Boulden reviews short stories in his "Short and Sweet" column in Mystery Scene Magazine. In issue #158 he discusses the Nov/Dec 2018 issue of
Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine. It ends as follows: "My favorite tale is 'A
Bad Day for Algebra Tests" by Robert Lopresti, for more reasons than its
terrific title. With an easy and readable narration, fast and sly
humor, dumb criminals and dumber cops, this story is as smooth and
enjoyable as spending a snowy afternoon lounging next to a roaring
fire."

Please Do Not Disturb
Shame on me for not mentioning this earlier. This is my third appearance in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine in forty-plus years of trying. "Please Do Not Disturb" is in the January/February 2019 issue.
